Tear Trough treatment using Teosyal Redensity II Filler
Kate came into our Chelmsford Clinic last month looking for an improvement to the dark lines under her eyes. She felt they were too dark and pronounced.
The under-eye skin is one of the thinnest and most delicate areas of skin in the human body. The finely textured dermis/epidermis has no oil glands, and is ultra susceptible to dark circles, rings or shadows. The dark circles are formed due to assorted causes such as heredity, ageing, mental or physical stress, hormonal changes, nutritional deficiencies and lack of sleep. Too much sun exposure, which prompts your body to produce more melanin, the pigment that gives skin its colour, is also a cause of dark circles. As we age, thinning skin and loss of fat and collagen can make the reddish-blue blood vessels under your eyes more obvious. Dermatologists agree that dehydration and anemia can negatively influence the under eye skin and produce dark circles. Along with external treatment, it is wise to take various other aspects into consideration in order to establish the cause and bring about the necessary changes.
Although age doesn't dictate when you should start getting fillers (rather, it's based on personal preferences), A prejuvenation theory is something worth considering:
It's much easier to keep a face looking natural by injecting very small amounts of filler slowly over time, than to wait until your 50s or 60s and require much larger volumes to restore what time has taken away. This works well if you don't want to drastically change your appearance, but like the idea of a slightly enhanced, less sunken version of your face.
For Kates treatment we used Teosyal Redensity II filler. This was injected over two treatments which were two weeks apart.
I think you can see the difference in both colour and contour and Kate was delighted with the results.
