How Micro-Needling/Mesotherapy Works

Micro-needling is performed using a medical grade, high speed, electric skin needling device made by Raffine, designed specifically for mesotherapy. The device is shaped like a pen, with a sterile, disposable tip with 12 tiny needles which move up and down very quickly.

The device is guided across the skin, penetrating the upper layers to a depth of between 0.5mm and 2.0mm, creating numerous tiny needle wounds.

This procedure causes the skin to respond by forming new elastin and collagen fibers, growing back thicker, plumper and more youthful looking.

Micro-Needling Facial Procedure

First, we clean the skin and apply numbing cream to decrease any discomfort. The pen is then guided across the face to perform the micro-needling procedure.

To enhance the results, we use collagen stimulating products such as Hyaluronic acid or vitamin C serum which are easily absorbed by the skin during the procedure and which help soothe, hydrate, heal and protect after the treatment.

The entire process is completed in approximately 45 minutes.

Effects of Micro-Needling Facial Procedure

Immediately after the treatment, most people experience redness and mild swelling, similar to mild sunburn. This fades away significantly within a few hours, and generally lasts for a maximum of 48 hours. During this time we recommend avoiding makeup.

Within a fortnight, your skin will appear noticeably smoother and more radiant and you will continue to see improvements for six weeks or more, at which point the full effects of the treatment become apparent.
